Need a Poker Book? Make Sure you pick the right one!

There are thousands of Poker Books out in the market today and picking the right one can be extremely hard. I would suggest Doyle Brunson's Super System Doyle has been in the top ten finalist for almost any Texas hold em Poker Tournament he has played. If you are a beginner and need a shot of strategy I believe that Doyle will give you and edge until you need more for your poker game he will give you insight on just about any poker hand. And with a record like his you really can not argue his system at all.
The best way to research a poker book is if you watch poker on TV find the players that you think you would be more like. Or pick players you want to be like. Most of these Pro Poker players have a book out my favorites has always been Howard Lederer because of his straight percentage play and his ability to ready the odds after the flop or how to power play your hands no matter what. The second Player I think I am most like would have to be Phil Gordon. His video of Final Table Poker with Phil Gordon if you are more of a visual person he speaks about when he won the championship and what he was thinking from every player. This has helped me a lot to read my opponents on a daily basis from poker to business.

Perfect Poker Gift for the holidays

A great way to get friends and family to play poker or to help your current poker playing friends is to give a good poker DVD to learn the basics or learn advanced poker play. Not all poker is won with the best hand, actually the best poker hand to play is the one that never sees your cards.

A poker DVD can really change a persons outlook on the largest gambling game in the United States. Most people think that Texas Hold em Poker is just gambling but if they see the tactics and strategies this may change their mind. In fact a supreme court in Atlanta GA was proven wrong by a couple of poker pros that Texas Hold'em is gambling by proving that you can win at poker by play.

Poker DVD's to Learn From

Can You Learn From Poker DVD's?
The answer is yes!
You can always learn something from the Pros but most Poker Playing DVD's include at least 30 minutes of how to play the game of poker and then another 30 minutes of "make sure you are folding 90% of the time". And then they go into strategy, but allot of the time its god to get a series of Poker DVDs from one person such as Howard Letterer learning poker video set or the one here in the image which is Phil Helmuth's Poker Playing 6 DVD set because the first DVD starts with the basics and then each one get more and more advanced.
Once you have mastered a set always try to find another set of DVD's from a Pro Poker Player who has a completely different style. One of the best ones that can really improve your game is the Phil Gordon Final Table DVD which is him speaking about what he was thinking at the final table when he won the final table at the WSOP he explains why he bluffed, why he raised, and why he won. Going from Phil Hellmuth or Howard Lederer to Phil Gordon really was a 180 degrees of talent and strategy but if you learn both now you have become versatile and ready to play at any Poker competitive level assuming you learned everything.
